Gates Australia, a leading manufacturer of application-specific fluid power and power transmission solutions has been a proud sponsor of Australian motorsport for several years and is excited to be supporting multiple teams across the motorsport landscape in 2023.
Gates Australia has been a sponsor of the Penrite Racing Team since 2018 when it was known as Kelly Racing before becoming Kelly Grove Racing and now under the Grove Racing umbrella. Gates first sponsored Penrite Racing driver and motorsports veteran David Reynolds in 2022, who has continued to deliver impressive results including two podium finishes this year, the first at the Newcastle 500 and most recently at the Perth SuperSprint. Gates has continued to sponsor Supercars rookie and young gun Matthew Payne. Gates first sponsored Payne in 2022 when he joined Grove Racing and was competing in the Super2s support category, Payne demonstrated incredible potential and made his Supercars debut in 2023 and has already achieved 2 top 10 finishes this year.
Gates newest Grove Racing sponsor is Junior Team rising star Oscar Targett, who has been making waves in the motorsport community, competing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge and the Toyota 86 Racing Series, both being very competitive.
In addition to sponsoring the Penrite Racing Team, Gates also sponsors independent motorsports team LRW Motorsport. Lachlan Wyeth, driver of LRW Motorsport competes in the Time Attack and Weekend Sprint Series with his turbocharged Toyota 86. Gates provided Wyeth’s 86 with a Micro V-belt, water pump and thermostat. Gates also sponsors the ‘Drag Brumby’, the world’s fastest 4-cylinder Subaru Brumby, and have provided a micro-v belt, timing belt and hydraulic tensioner. The Penrite Mustangs run with Gates radiator caps, barricade fuel hoses and Safety Stripe Evaporative Emission Control Hose. Gates are committed to supporting the growth and development of motorsport at all levels.
Gates is also pleased to announce that they have hosted over 170 clients and customers at the Supercars events this year. The Supercars events provide an excellent opportunity for networking and strengthening relationships with customers by hosting them in the Penrite Racing suite, pit tours and meet-and-greets with the drivers.
The Penrite Racing Team and LRW Motorsport will compete in the upcoming season, which runs from February to December 2023. Gates Australia looks forward to cheering on these teams and their drivers throughout the season.
